New exterior lighting for the Plasencia Cathedral

The new and most special exterior lighting of Plasencia's Cathedral
was inaugurated on the same day of  PILAR CABRERA'S excellent organ recital.


The old and new Cathedral of Plasencia

The Plasencia Cathedral is in fact two buildings from different periods.
A Romanesque-Gothic edifice was built in the 13 and 14C.
At the end of the 15C., its east end was demolished and a new Cathedral
with a bolder architectural design was begun : initiated in the time
of the Bishop Gutiérrez Alvarez de Toledo in 1498 and inaugurated in 1578.
